Our little man, Ewan Duke Turvy, arrived at 6:10 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2009. He weighed 9 pounds, 6 ounces, and measured in at 21 inches. Mom and baby are doing well and we are all overflowing with love. The birth was long and challenging, but amazing in many ways. I hope to post his birth story within the next week or so.Just a quick note on his name: Ewan is pronounced "Yoo-in," and is a popular name in England, Ireland, Scotland, and Canada (some of the many countries that make up our little man's roots), but is rarely heard in the U.S. We mostly think it's just a really cool sounding name that flows well with my maiden name, Duke, and our Scottish last name, Turvy, but it is also a variation of some family names on both the Turvy and Duke sides, such as Ian, Eugene, and John. Troy is also a pretty big fan of the actor Ewan McGregor, and might even go so far as to say he had some influence on our choosing the name. Did you know that besides being an actor, he is also a musician and avid motorcyclist?

Please know that we are adjusting to our new lives as a family of three and may not be able to return phone calls or have all the visitors who would like to visit right away, but we appreciate everyone checking in!
