Our July included three wonderful back-to-back vacations: to Florida, New York, and Big Sur. I'm having trouble finding the time to sit down and really write about them, but if you haven't seen the photos (of which there are too many for me to choose a few favorites to post here) and would like to, you can see them here:
Florida
New York
Big Sur
(Those of you who are not on facebook should still be able to see the photos by clicking on the links, but someone please let me know if you can't.)
Somewhere in the middle of our crazy travels, Ewan turned two. It was the day after we arrived in New York to be precise, but since Troy couldn't join us on that trip, we also celebrated a couple days earlier in Florida with the Turvys and Calvins. (You may have noticed in the photos that Ewan had Carvel ice cream cake at both celebrations, which was purely a result of his pregnant mother's cravings. He was perfectly happy with this selection, though, although his digestive system may have felt otherwise, as evidenced by the florescent green poop the next day.)
I would love to find the time to write down all my thoughts about this wonderful two-year-old of ours with whom we are so madly in love, but for now I'll leave you with a video of him on his actual birthday, one in which he is actually sitting still (which only occurs (a) when there are sweets involved and (b) when he's had a grand total of six hours of sleep the night before, which was the case in this situation). (I am also working on putting together some videos of two-year-old Ewan in which he is definitely not sitting still, which is much more typical.) This birthday video is probably a little boring to people outside of my family, but I think it nicely captures our little celebration and gives a sense of at least one side of Ewan at this point in time, and it includes several members of both sides of my family whom we do not get to see very often. Anyway, here's the little dude on his big day... Happy birthday to our Ewan!
Happy Birthday Ewan!
